a Family That Rides Together…

Micheal began riding at Rainbow in 2019. When his sister Ashton joined him for one of Rainbow’s summer camps that summer, she caught the riding bug too! After camp, the two began riding together in a weekly lesson. It quickly became a wonderful bonding opportunity for the siblings.

Their instructor Vicki loves the respect and encouragement they give each other. They are especially supportive of each other when working on something difficult.  Vicki says, "Working with Michael and Ashton is definitely a highlight of my week.  I love their energy and positivity!  They enjoy being challenged and I love helping them to succeed."

Succeed they have! These two are progressing quickly toward their riding goals. Their biggest riding goals to date are control at the canter and jumping. The two work hard on developing connections with their horses at the walk, trot and canter so that they are able to correctly jump the horses they ride.

When asked what they enjoy about riding, Michael shares, “I like everything about it.” As an animal lover, Michael never thought he would have the chance to ride horses so frequently. He can’t pick a favorite mount, “I love all the horses.”

Ashton also loves to work with the horses, “Rainbow means a lot to me, it gave me the opportunity to be around horses and ride and improve my skills.” She is a fan of working with Worthy and Buster, but says, “All the Rainbow horses are awesome.”

We can’t wait to watch these riders achieve their goals!
