Volunteer Of The Year - Christine

A huge thank you to Christine, our 2021 Volunteer Of The Year! Christine has been volunteering at Rainbow since 2017. A lifelong equestrian she helps out in lessons as a horse leader, and with her positivity and dependability she is beloved by participants and equines!  

Christine always helps out where needed, and she especially enjoys seeing the connection between the students and horses. She says:

“I truly enjoy my time volunteering at Rainbow as I work with the students, instructors and certainly the horses. Seeing the interaction with the students and horses is an ongoing learning experience for me. I love seeing this interaction between student and horse and it highlights how sensitive the horses are to us.”

Christine knows all about the horse and human connection through her bond with her own horse. 

“I've seen this same connection with my horse, Stella. When I relax, she relaxes. Stella and I went horse camping at Fair Hill in MD and practiced relaxing as we encountered the numerous tunnels and bridges in our fifteen miles. We enjoyed walking through this beautiful covered bridge.” Christine and Stella are particularly fond of trail riding together.
