Tailored Equine Assisted Therapy

Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine assisted therapy to our students. This approach uses the horse to achieve a variety of therapeutic goals. These goals can be physical, intellectual, social, educational, emotional, or behavioral.

Our programs are highly individualized. We tailor lessons to meet the goals of the individual student. Some riders want to improve mobility, others want to increase their ability to understand the world around them. The goals are as many and varied as the students who ride with us. Our team helps the riders to achieve their therapy goals while creating an exciting and pleasurable experience. The joy of being on a horse provides momentum to accomplish the goals that carry over into life-skills.

Our instructors are PATH certified. They meet the rigorous standards of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH). To achieve and maintain certification, a PATH instructor must pass an exam and take continuing education courses.

The result is a quality therapeutic program that creates trackable and measurable success!

We offer a variety of therapeutic opportunities for students with varying needs at Rainbow. Rainbow riders include children, seniors, teens and military officers.

What is Equine Assisted Therapy?

Equine assisted therapy encompasses a wide range of treatments which occur in an equine environment. Therapies, which may include on-horse or horse-involved activities, promote well-being and growth in people with a variety of physical, occupational, and emotional challenges. This method of therapy does not replace more commonly used treatments, but is used to enhance other traditional approaches.
